Shall we call this a ... fateful crisis? Kujaku: So you already know why you called me here? Abbot: This ... I don't know! You should be attending school! ------------ p. 108 Saichou: Cut it out! "Saichou, Saichou", what sort of lousy name is that! Abbot: M-My buddha statue!! ------------ p. 110 Abbot: It damn well cost me 100 million yen to make that golden statue! Saichou: This is a big loss, but not a fateful crisis. You're better off dead. (Later, as Kujaku left the temple at night, he heard a bike's engine. Saichou was there, with a girl sitting behind him) Saichou: You haven't left yet? ------------ p. 111 Saichou: Is it true that someone wants my father's life? Kujaku: Do you care? Saichou: Huh, who would care!! You must be the same as my father? Willing to do anything as long as there's money. Kujaku: I have to save him, No matter how low he is. Heaven's fury on auction! ??? Heaven's fury feels great! ??? ------------ p. 113 (He hears his father's scream as he ran out of the door. The buddha's head shot through the wall right behind him) Girl: Kyaa! Saichou: What's going on!? ------------ p. 114 (Kujaku saves the monk as the buddha head was about to swallow him) Girl: Who on earth is that guy!! (Elsewhere, Onimaru was making love with a woman...) ------------ p. 117 Woman: That was a bit quick... (Onimaru's sunglasses shattered) Womna: Kyaa! Onimaru: Who was it!! Who broke my spell... Fiend... I can't forgive this. ------------ p. 118 (Imitating Kujaku) Saichou: It doesn't look very special, how did you manage that? (They heard some rumblings) Saichou: H-hey, monk! Kujaku: Shiki! You're still alive.... ============================================================================= END: Chapter "Shiki" Chapter: "Jyukindou" ------------ p. 120 (Kujaku and Saichou face an animated buddha statue) Girl: Hey, just a minute!! Kujaku: Escape to safety. Don't worry about me. (He summons his power as the statue brings its sword crashing down) ------------ p. 122 (The statue's head is destroyed) ------------ p. 123 Saichou: Oh, wow, you wasted it! Goddamn, you made short work of that!! (The headless statue rose again behind their backs, and attacked) Kujaku: What!! Saichou: Gyaa! (Kujaku blocked the swing) ------------ p. 124 (His knife broke under the impact, and he was flung away) Saichou: Kujaku! Gyaa! (The statue narrowly misses squashing him) ------------ p. 125 (It reaches the monk and the girl) Monk and Girl: Kyaa! (Saichou beat the statue's foot with a wooden staff) Saichou: I'm not afraid of you, asshole! I'll beat you to death! Y-you damn..!! (The statue repeatedly thrusts its sword into the ground, and Saichou runs) Saichou: Gyaa! ------------ p. 126 Saichou: Damn, I'm getting really mad now! Pyou Tou Sya Kai Chin Retsu Zai (He jumped up toward the statue, fingers closed forming a gesture) Kujaku: Zen! [Note: The above nine words are used by Taoists to banish evil] ------------ p. 128 (The statue is sliced into halves) ------------ p. 129 Saichou: Wow, impressive! My father can't possibly be compared with you! You're a real monk. Hey, what are you doing? (Kujaku picked up a piece of paper with a demon's name written on it) Kujaku: This is the monster's identity. On Abira Un Ken Sobaka [Note: I guess this is a chant of transformation] (The paper changes into a dove) Saichou: This is like magic! Kujaku: Somwhere, some sorceror is controlling these Shikis. It's not enough to just defeat individual Shikis. ------------ p. 130 Kujaku: That bird will lead us to the sorceror. I better unravel this mystery. Saichou: Heheheh ... Kujaku, tonight I will stay with you till the end. (Elsewhere, on top of a tall building) Onimaru: Huh, minor tricks ... Have actuallly beaten my "Shiki"s. ------------ p. 131 Onimaru: Go, it's your turn now. (He lets a crow fly into the distance) Kujaku: You shouldn't have come, my opponent is a sorceror who kills with curses professionally. Saichou: Tonight I'm feeling on top of the world, ??? Nobody can stop me! ------------ p. 132 Saichou: Feel free to order me to help you. (They see a giant crow bearing down on them) Saichou: Wh.. What the fuck!! Kujaku: Keep going. ------------ p. 133 (Kujaku stands up on the rear of the bike) Saichou: Gyaa... (They charge into its gaping jaws) ------------ p. 134 Saichou: Kyahaha, got rid of it. (The dove took them to a worn-looking building) ------------ p. 135 Saichou: Kujaku! Kujaku: Stay right there! (Looking at the remains of Kujaku's vomit on his collar) Saichou: Yuck .... (On the roof of the building, Onimaru grasps the tail of the struggling dove) Onimaru: You are better than I thought... Kujaku .... ------------ p. 136 Kujaku: How do you know my name? Onimaru: I've heard tell... that you've defeated quite a few sorcerors, haven't you. (He ripped off the dove's head, and it reverts to shattered pieces of paper) Onimaru: You are the first to defeat my "Shiki"s. I offer my compliments. But because you were the first, you must be the last. I won't let you return alive. ------------ p. 137 Kujaku: Your wish might not come true. Onimaru: Let me tell you first. My name is Onimaru, the Jyukindou master... Onimaru. ============================================================================= END: "Jyukindou" Chapter: "Onimaru" ------------ p. 139 (Saichou studies the building in front of him) Saichou: What's going on up there? (He starts his bike) Saichou: Damn, leaving me behind ... How am I supposed to see the action. ------------ p. 140 - 141 (Full double page shot of Kujaku facing Onimaru on the roof) ------------ p. 142 (They prepare for the upcoming fight) Onimaru: Ten no Mihashira, Chi no Mihashira Rai Rin Shu Go, Kyu Kyu Nyo Ritsu Ryo [Note: This is a chant of protection. Literally it says "Pillar of Heaven, Pillar of Earth, come and protect, rush is the immediate command"] Kujaku: On Ma Ri Shi Ei Sobaka [Note: Kujaku is chanting his protective ward too. Contrary to Onimaru's Chinese one, this has ties to Tibet and India] ------------ p. 143 Onimaru: Kujaku, I despise hypocrites like you, with their facade of integrity! No matter what, I won't let you go back alive! Kujaku: As indeed, must I... defeat those Jyukindou sorcerors who kill with their curses! Onimaru: C'mon, Kujaku! (He attacks with a shower of punches) ------------ p. 144 (Kujaku calmly raises his arm) Onimaru: W-what!! (His attack passes through Kujaku as if a he were a shadow, while Kujaku hit him squarely on the nose) ------------ p. 145 (Onimaru was flung back into the water tank. He ripped it apart and appeared again) ------------ p. 146 Onimaru: I was careless back there, It will be different this time. Shin I Jyo Gaku, Shin On Jyo Kai! [Note: This is another chant origined from China. It is used to gather strength. The words mean "God's greatness like mountain, god's mercy like ocean"] (He began to breath in, and his muscles buldged) Onimaru: Jyukindou I Buki Naga Yo [Note: Finishing the chant, "The breath of Jyukindou lasts forever"] Onimaru: ??? Put god's breath into the spirit, changing myself into god. ??? ------------ p. 147 (He redoubled his attacks) Kujaku: T-too fast!! Onimaru: This is the true spirit of Jyukindou's Heaven Earth Twin Poles Style! ------------ p. 148 Kujaku: From under!? (He dodged one hand, only to be hit by the other, and was smashed against the support of a TDK neon sign) Onimaru: The Heaven Earth Twin Poles Style can control Yin and Yang, and the two poles of heaven and earth. Now my left hand represents heaven, and my right hand represents earth. And so you, who lies between heaven and earth have nowhere to run. Kujaku: Who said I am running? ------------ p. 149 (Coming out of the wreckage) Kujaku: This is also the limit of your strength ... Your power can only master the darkness of earth. Jyukindou is nothing but a temporary shadow projected into man's heart. It is powerless to control heaven. Against heaven's light, it becomes nothing. Onimaru: Huh. So you think you're the light? Kujaku: You got it. Come and get it, Onimaru. I'll make you understand the meaning of heaven and the wisdom of my Ougi!! [Note: Ougi, a sect of buddhism which originated in India and flourished in Tibet] Onimaru: If there is no light, then darkness will claim all ... I'll send you to the abyss! ------------ p. 150 Kujaku: Na Mo Hon Zon Kai Ma Ri Shi Ten Rai Rin Ei Geki [Note: A chant of attack drawing power from heaven] Onimaru: Na Mo Dai An Koku Ten Rai Rin Ha Kou Kyu Kyu Nyo Ritsu Ryo [Note: A chant using the dark side of heaven to break the light] (They attack in a flurry of fists) Kujaku and Onimaru: "Rin" ------------ p. 151 (Left fist hits left fist) Onimru: Pyou Kujaku: Tou [Note: The first three in the nine words of power] (Right elbow blocks right elbow. They are in an impasse) ------------ p. 152 Kujaku: You exploit the weakness of man's heart, eating it away with hatred, and then cast it into the depths of hell! Such is the way of your Jyukindou! Onimaru: ??? But what happened? No matter where you are in this world, there are always those who enter hell voluntarily. Which is why both Ougi and Jyukindou has flourished for two thousand years. ??? [Note: Kujaku's Ougi and Onimaru's Jyukindou are different branches of Buddhism. They stem from the same origin. Think of them as the Light and Dark side of the Force] (They broke off after hitting each other with a kick) ------------ p. 153 Kujaku and Onimaru: (Gurgles) (Onimaru spewed blood at Kujaku, and used the cover to attack. Kujaku was knocked down) (Stepping on Kujaku's arm) Onimaru: Kujaku!! You still don't understand!! There is no difference between light and darkness, you and me and everything else is the same. ------------ p. 154 (Hand raised for the final blow) Onimaru: I am motivated by the evil within human hearts, their intentions all lead to darkness! Die, Kujaku!! (Saichou appears on his bike, trying to run him over) Saichou: Just in the nick of time? Kujaku, is he the one behind all this? Onimaru: Little bastard! (Onimaru tosses the bike) Saichou: Wa.. wawaa! Hyaa! ------------ p. 155 Kujaku: Onimaru! Onimaru: Kujaku!? (Standing once again) Kujaku: For the sake of money, for the sake of personal desires, you cast curses with your evil Jyukindou ... That, and my Ougi ... the same ... Onimaru: Na Mo Dai An Koku Ten Kyuu Kyuu.... [Note: He is trying the Heaven Earth Twin Poles Style again] Kujaku: ... never!! ------------ p. 156 Onimaru: N-no! (He was flung back all the way up the TDK neon sing. Flames shoot out as the sign short-circuits and shuts down) Kujaku: Now do you understand, Onimaru!! The force behind this fist!! It's the force of the human heart! ------------ p. 157 Kujaku: This world is created from heaven, earth, and man. Your left hand represents heaven; your right, earth; my fist is the man's heart which divides them. The Heaven Earth Twin Poles Style has no place for man's heart, and so is defenseless against me! (Saichou is hanging upside down from the railing) Saichou: Well done, Kujaku. Kujaku: Thank you, Saichou. At the critical moment, You saved my life. Saichou: Glad you understand, I'd never have turned up otherwise. (Behind them, Onimaru twitches his fingers) Onimaru: Ku.. ja.. ku... ============================================================================ END: Chapter "Jyukindou" Chapter: "Hachi Raijin" (God of Eight Thunders) --------------- p. 160 (A night thunderstorm was brewing, Kujaku and Saichou looked at Onimaru, still hanging on the smashed TDK neon sign) Saichou: Don't worry, if he's still alive, then he is a real monster. Let's go. (Kujaku got on the bike, which proceeded to break apart) --------------- p. 161 Saichou: Argh, totaled! And I just bought it too, damn! Kujaku: Thunder .... (Lightning illuminated Onimaru, revealing a necklace grasped in his left hand) Onimaru: Return from wounds ... ??? Knife stained with blood, body cover by blood ... ??? Great Thunder descends on head, Fire Thunder ignites from chest ... ?? (The TDK sign was struck by lightning) --------------- p. 162 (It toppled over Kujaku and Saichou) Saichou: Gyaa! (Kujaku blew it apart) Saichou: Kujaku! (From within the smoke, Onimaru emerged) Kujaku: Onimaru!? --------------- p. 163 (Eight demon heads in energy balls positioned themselves over Onimaru's forehead, chest, abdomen, groin, knees and forearms) Onimaru: Man's heart which divides ... There is no man's heart in my Jyukindou, power is everything. I am the God of Eight Thunders from the underworld, dictating life and death over deities! I have no heart, I only know feasting on my opponents, and banishing them to hell! --------------- p. 164 Onimaru: Tsuchi Mikazuchi [Earth Thunder] Waka Mikazuchi [Young Thunder] (Energy bolts with demon heads inside attacked Kujaku and Saichou) Kujaku: Indara Ya Sobaka! [Note: He is calling on the God of Thunder in Indian myth, Indara] (A protective barrier surrounded them) Onimaru: Saku Mikazuchi ??? [Tearing Thunder] --------------- p. 165 (The floor broke apart as Onimaru slammed his fist on it) Saichou: Uwaa! Kujaku: Saichou! Mayukirati Sobaka! (He jumped after the tumbling Saichou) --------------- p. 166 Saichou: Uwaa! Kujaku! (He saw the peacock projection behind Kujaku, their descend was slowed) Onimaru: Na Mo Ameno Tori Fuki Rai Rin Kyu Kyu [Note: Calling the boat of sky bird] --------------- p. 167 Saichou: You can f-fly!? Kujaku: This is the Peacock King's life-saving chant of flying... Under these conditions we're on the defensive, no attacks .... (Onimaru was in hot pursuit on a flaming winged dragon) Onimaru: Hono Mikazuchi [Fire Thunder] (The attack pressed home) --------------- p. 168 Kujaku: Nau Mari San Man Da Ba Sa Ra .... (He realised he couldn't form the necessary gesture with his other hand holding Saichou's arm. The peacock projection bore the full fury of Onimaru's Fire Thunder) Onimaru: How do you like that, Kujaku! --------------- p. 169 Onimaru: Fool! Is this what you call man's heart? If you don't let go, you can't close your hands to form the symbol! Saichou: Oh, fuck!! Is that true, Kujaku!! Kujaku: ??? Onimaru: You are too naive, battles need no hearts, power decides all! Go forth, Oo Mikazuchi! [Great Thunder] (Kujaku was hit again) Onimaru: Naru Mikazuchi! [Ringing Thunder] Kuro Mikazuchi! [Black Thunder] --------------- p. 170 (Kujaku was badly wounded, with blood dripping onto Saichou's face) Onimaru: In order to protect him, you are willing to sacrifice your life? Abandon the heart, let go of the hand, only so can you battle, Kujaku! Saichou: Do it! Please do it! Kujaku! (Kujaku held on) --------------- p. 171 Kujaku: I won't let you go. Even if that means defeat, those are my principles. Onimaru: Very well! If you insist, I won't hesistate! Send them to hell, Oo Mikazuchi! [Great Thunder] (Trying to knock Kujaku's hand off him) Saichou: I beg you! Let me go! (Instead, Kujaku embraced him tightly, protecting him from the final assualt) --------------- p. 172 (On fire, the peacock projection could span its wing no longer) Onimaru: Bastard, you really want to die... Saichou: Forget it, don't worry about me... I don't want you to lose because of this. Kujaku: Have no regrets, this is not your fault. Onimaru: So be it! One more strike, and I will end your pitiful existence! Life or death, you have no other choice! (His mount caught up with the peacock) --------------- p. 173 (Onimaru raised his hand) Kujaku: They are ... My principles! Onimaru: You're dead, Kujaku! (He struck) --------------- p. 174 (His hand stopped just short of hitting Kujaku's face, who was still holding Saichou in a protective embrace. They stared into each other's eyes. Onimaru lowered his hand suddenly) --------------- p. 175 (They landed on the streets. The peacock projection and the winged dragon dissipitated) Kujaku: Move away, Saichou. (He faced Onimaru again. Neither said anything) Saichou: Hmmm .... --------------- p. 176 (Onimaru turned around and walked away) Onimaru: Kujaku ... Were you truly prepared to die? (He smiled) Onimaru: Huh, you are very special indeed. It was actually me who abandoned heart .... (Onimaru turned his back on them, and walked silently down the deserted street.) ========================================================================= END: "Hachi Raijin"
