 10/01 Notes: As is with all my Japanese ones, I’m back to my hybrid 
summary-translations.  And as a note, these translations are not completely 
accurate!  Since I’m not so great at Japanese, I go for implied meaning rather 
than exact translation.  But enough already, just enjoy; comments and 
corrections are always a nice, large help 8D.

   Hai:  multiple uses ^_^ usually “yes”
   Itadakimasu:  no good translation in English; used before eating

Suzu:  … ah… I’m the one… who should be… sorry… <…>  <That’s right>

Suzu:  <The depression of going to school…>  <Plus I don’t feel like seeing

Mako:  Suzu~!!  Morning!  The weather today’s wonderful, huh?  It feels grea~t!!
Suzu:  Good morning
Mako:  Oh, hey, did you watch last night’s drama?  It was funny~ hilarious~ ah!! 
 It’s KATAGIRI-kun!  He looks pretty cool again, as always.  Hey, Suzu!!  This 
is you chance!!  Say something, like “good morning” !  What are you doing??
Suzu:  No way!  I don’t want to see his face right now~
Mako:  Eh~ why~
Suzu:  It’ll never happen… that’s how it goes with me.

Minori: SONODA-san!  Do you have a minute?  Sorry about yesterday.  It was just 
a coincidence that I liked him the same time as you.

Minori:  I really didn’t know about your feelings.
Suzu:  Me too… well I knew, but I didn’t think that you’d get rejected by 
KATAGIRI-kun.
Minori challenged Suzu to a fair fight for KATAGIRI. 
Suzu:  <This isn’t fair at all…>
Words floating around Minori-chan’s head: Smart, pretty, friendly, knows how to

Minori:  I don’t think KATAGIRI-kun likes anybody at school right now, but I’d 
rather hear that coming from his own mouth.  So!!  Let’s go hear what he has to 
say!!
Suzu:  Eh!
Minori:  C’mon!  Hurry up!
Suzu:  Eh… eh…

Suzu:  <Minori-chan sure is pushy…>
Minori:  So, _we_ want to hear the details.
Suzu:  <We…!?>
Minori:  Is there anybody you like at school?
KATAGIRI:  No, you’ve got it wrong.
Minori:  Then why?  What is it about us that you don’t like?  Not your type?  
What is your type then?  Tell us.

Minori:  I like you.  I can try to become the type you want.
[Translator’s note:  Goodness!  Girls, don’t you dare take notes, this is not 
the way to go!  Lol]
Suzu:  <Minori-chan…>
KATAGIRI:  …well
Classmate:  Minori~ Not good, not good~

Classmate:  The dance club’s two choreographers are arguing~!  You’d better come 
at once!!
Minori:  Eh~ I’m right in the middle of an important conversation.
Classmate:  You’re the president, Minori.  You have to come or else they won’t 
calm down!
Minori:  Fi~ne, I’ll go.  I’ll be right back, so the two of you wait here!!
Suzu:  Eh…  wait… eh… Minori-chan…  Minori-cha~n
Minori:  Who are the two fighting?
Classmate:  Mamiko and Ec-chan
Minori:  Oh~ figures~
Suzu:  <…wh- what now??>

Suzu:  <This is so hard…>  <What should I say that doesn’t sound weird…>  <But 
there’s nothing to say…>  <I can’t breathe…>  <Hurry and come back, 
Minori-cha~n!!!>

Suzu:  <I can’t stand this!!>  Wh- what’s taking Minori-chan so long?  I’m gonna 
go check up on her~ Ah!
<FX: trip>

KATAGIRI:  …hey, careful there.
Suzu:  …th-thanks

Suzu thinks dreamy things about KATAGIRI-kun as her heart beats loudly. 

Minori:  Hey~ Suzu~ you said you’d wai~t.

Suzu:  Sorry, it just seemed like you were taking a long time so I cam to check.
Minori:  Well, I guess I’m sorry for taking off like that, too.  I heard about 
what type of girl KATAGIRI likes.  He likes pretty, model-types who have their 
own minds.

Suzu:  Well, that doesn’t fit me at all~ oh well…
Minori: Pretty, who have their own minds…
Suzu:  <So… girls like Minori-chan>  <I see>  <That’s why he was standing next 
to her>  <She seems like that type of girl…>

Suzu:  <I know…>  <I know, but…>  <but…>
She reasons that it’s impossible for her to like her. 
Suzu:  <But I can’t help having feelings for him…>

Suzu:  <I should just give up…>  <These feelings>  <are painful…>
Mother:  Suzu~  Phone~  It’s your classmate, Minori-chan~

Suzu:  Ha~i.  What’s Minori-chan doing…
Mother:  Suzu, you’re still in your pajamas!?  Just because it’s Sunday, you 
sleep until 11!!
Suzu:  Hello…
Minori:  Suzu!?  Hurry and come over!!  I saw KATAGIRI just now.  He’s with 
friends from his old school!!
Suzu:  Eh…  Hold… hold on, Minori-chan…  <What am I doing in my pajamas at a 
time like this…>
Minori:  There’s a girl with him.  It’s like I don’t know anything about him!  
But anyway, just come.  Seeya.

Suzu:  <Minori-chan really is pushy~>
Minori:  Took you long enough, Suzu~  Just now, they went into this store.  So, 
we’re going in, too.
Suzu:  Eh!  But, is it okay to do stuff like this…
Minori:  It’s fine.  It’s not like we’re doing anything illegal.  We’re just 
having tea, and they happen to be there.  It’s a new chance to get information 
on KATAGIRI!!!  I’m excited~
Suzu:  <I don’t know about this…>  <Minori-chan’s strategy is a little fast for 
me…>
Employee:  Welcome~

KATAGIRI:  Geez, you guys haven’t changed a bit!
Friend:  Why would we change in only half a year~  you haven’t changed at all, 
either!
KATAGIRI:  Really?  Well, I still haven’t gotten used to anything yet.  But I’ve 
talked to some new people.
Friend:  Seriously!?
KATAGIRI:  Yes, seriously, seriously.  Ah, how’s ISHIKAWA!?
Friend:  Good, good!
KATAGIRI chats excitedly as Suzu and Minori notice his unusual enthusiasm. 

Suzu:  <When you’re relaxed with the friends from your old school…>  <You seem 
like a whole different KATAGIRI-kun…>  And he laughs with his mouth wide open…  
<~but>  <I really like that look…>

Waitress:  Here you go.
KATAGIRI’s friends make fun of him for ordering a “girly” strawberry sundae. 
KATAGIRI:  I like it, what’s wrong with that?  It tastes really good!
Suzu:  I knew it, strawberries.  He really likes them, I guess.
They talk about teachers and are laughing really loudly when Minori stands up… 
Minori:  …let’s go.
Suzu:  Eh?

Minori:  Let’s go.
Suzu:  Eh!  Ah!  Eh… eh… wait up, Minori-chan~
Friend:  What is it?  Do you know them, KATAGIRI?
Minori:  ~I can’t believe it.  Was that really KATAGIRI…?

Suzu:  I was surprised, too…  <that smiling face>  <is that his real 
personality?>
Minori:  With all that kyaa kyaaing, I just felt really empty all of a sudden…
[Translator’s note:  “kyaa kyaaing” as in loud screaming and laughing]
Minori:  That quiet, cool KATAGIRI was just a delusion, I guess…  But that 
wasn’t what got me!  It was that parfait!  A parfait!  With strawberries, at 
that!!  Guys don’t eat that!  And especially guys like KATAGIRI!!
[Translator’s note:  I didn’t realize having dessert was such a crime for a guy! 
o_O]

Minori:  Well… I got all of that out in one breath…
Suzu thinks about something. ;; 
Minori:  Ah, Suzu…

KATAGIRI:  Here, you forgot this in the shop.
Minori:  It’s Suzu’s bag!
Suzu:  Ah, thank you.
Minori:  This is bad.  Do you think he heard what we just said?
<FX: whisper whisper>

KATAGIRI:  Sorry for killing your image of me.
Suzu:  Ah!…

Suzu:  <KATAGIRI-kun…>
